All About Blacktail Event Recap

On Sunday, September 8th, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts from BC’s Region 1 gathered at Eves Provincial Park for the "All About Blacktail" event. Surrounded by the park’s dense forest, the group delved into the world of the elusive blacktail deer.

The day kicked off with an introduction to blacktail habitat and prime hunting locations, offering valuable insights into their seasonal habits. BHA members shared expert tips on tracking, scouting, and hunting techniques, highlighting the importance of patience and understanding the terrain. Throughout the day, participants swapped stories, learned from experienced hunters, and bonded over their shared passion for the outdoors.

The event concluded with a group walk to identify blacktail bedding areas, scat, and other key signs, leaving everyone excited for future hunts.
